presented in six major parts:
MODULE 1: Writing
Principles 1
This module is a
review of some of the basics of English grammar to improve your skills in
writing clear and effective messages. It includes lessons about writing
actively in parallel structure, recognizing the correct subject-verb agreement
in sentences, connecting ideas, and applying the right pauses using
punctuations.
MODULE 2: Writing
Principles 2
Sentences and
paragraphs are the building blocks of a written work. To construct a solid and
compelling business document, you must ensure that your sentence structures are
correct, and your paragraphs convey a clear and accurate message. This module
includes lessons in writing simple, compound, and complex sentences, writing a
complete paragraph, executing different tones in your writings in accordance
with your audience, and applying the 5Cs in writing.
MODULE 3: Different
Types of Business Documents
There are various
types of written documents used in a daily business operation. Each document
serves a distinct purpose. This module includes lessons about the purposes of
business writing in different types of business documents, how to plan your
writing, and how to write persuasively.
MODULE 4: Writing a
Professional Email
Email is one of the
most commonly used modes of communication in the workplace. Having the skill of
writing effective professional emails makes you competent in your role at your
company. This module includes lessons about writing emails professionally,
employing the commonly used words or phrases, and tips in good writing.
MODULE 5: Writing
Agenda, Minutes, and Memo
Attending a meeting is
an essential component of a productive workplace. Meetings can be used to
convey critical information, address problems, and provide project direction.
This module includes lessons in writing two essential documents in a
meeting—meeting agenda and meeting minutes. It also includes a lesson in
developing internal documents, such as a memorandum.
MODULE 6: Revising,
Editing, and Proofreading
The final stage in
writing is to ensure that the message for the reader is clear and correct. This module will show you the final tasks of
revising, editing, and proofreading to give your writing that professionalism
and polish before it is sent.
